CMA CGM is going to manage 20 LNG-Powered ships by 2022

Soon CMA CGM has introduced the second LNG-Powered vessel, named CONTAINERSHIPS POLAR, in their fllet. on June 23rd, 2019 it will be phased into the redesigned BALT 2 service in Rotterdam. The 1,380-TEU containership has already started sailing in May, from Guangzhou Wenchong Shipyard in China to Northern Europe, where the vessel will operate alongside its sister ship CONTAINERSHIPS NORD.

The CONTAINERSHIPS POLAR has conforming dimensions and high ice class, that allow it to sail in Northern Europe and the Baltics waters. What is more, the vessel provides best-in-class container intake: an exceptional high intake of 40ft and 45ft pallet-wide high cube containers is highlighting its customer-oriented approach.

By the end of June, the vessel’s first LNG bunkering will be carried out in the port of Rotterdam. It will fuel an approximate of 200 metric tons of liquefied natural gas via ship-to-ship bunkering.

This year above mentioned two LNG-powered ships will join with their future sister ships CONTAINERSHIPS ARCTIC and CONTAINERSHIPS AURORA.
